The Sequel to a PhD Podcast
How often are our careers, identities, ambitions defined by the story we wrote for ourselves way back when we started our degrees/careers? I know that for a long time, my identity was tied to success on my originally chosen career path. But what happens when we discover along the way that the story we created for ourselves back then no longer feels right?
Here, we share and support each others’ stories of moving through this, as well as strategies for what has helped along the way. We also talk more broadly about learning how to figure out what we really want across the different areas of our lives, doing things differently, navigating the associated challenges, and supporting one another in pursuing what's true and meaningful for each of us as individuals. And how that pursuit can ultimately impact the world around us.

The Sequel to a PhD Podcast
Episode 18 - Reflections on Startup Pharma: My Favorite Job, the Question of Regret, and Uncovering Our Values From Past Experiences
Welcome back to the podcast!
In this slightly nostalgic episode, I look back on my favorite role in bench science at a start-up pharmaceutical company! (And some slightly comical and absurd moments in the role I held prior to the start-up company job...) This episode also addresses how remembering our past experiences can help us identify our values and what brings us fulfillment in our work. By reflecting on what we loved about past jobs or projects, we can intentionally bring more of those elements into our current work or new opportunities that align with what's important to us now.
Thank you for listening!
